Professor Ganna Pogrebna is the Executive Director of the AI and Cyber Futures Institute (AICF), an Honorary Professor at the University of Sydney, and the Lead for Behavioural Data Science at the Alan Turing Institute.
Renowned internationally for her expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), behavioural data science, and emerging technologies, she is also a dedicated advocate for ethical and inclusive AI development. With a proven track record of securing and leading research initiatives valued at over €20 million for public and private sector, Ganna has made significant contributions to advancing AI and human-machine teaming.
Her strategic insights have supported critical projects for organisations including the Office of National Intelligence in Australia, the Ministry of Defence, GCHQ, and NCSC in the UK, as well as the Council of Europe and the World Bank. Ganna’s accomplishments have been widely recognized. She was named a Tech 100 Women winner in the UK in 2019 and received the Women in AI Asia-Pacific Award in 2024 in the AI in Risk and Cybersecurity category. Her pioneering research has been published in top academic journals, and she serves as an editor for three leading scholarly outlets.
Notably, her innovative work on digital twins has been featured in the Harvard Business Review. In 2024, Ganna and her team at AICF completed a landmark project, designing a strategy digital twin for nuclear decision-making for the European Leadership Network, further cementing her reputation as a thought leader at the intersection of AI and strategic policy.
